Alice in Wonderland

Lastnight the whole family watched Tim Burtons "Alice in Wonderland". We were all transfixed. I have heard that it's not to everyones taste..... I thought it was FANTABULOUS!!!!!

The acting was superb and the costumes, don't get me started on the costumes, they were just DELECTABLE!!!!!!

I am a big fan of Lewis Carol and absoloutley adore "Jabberwocky". It was my focus poem in year 10 literature. I still remember it.

If you are not familiar with "Jabberwocky" I recommend you read it before you see Alice in Wonderland so as too understand the story better.

Just love Johnny Depp, thought this part may have been a little Willy Wonkerish but came away feeling it was more Piratey :-) mmmm love Mr Depp.

Don't blame me if it's not to your liking, but ooooh, "c'est incroyable".

A Gift

Sorry, not for all you in blogland, it's for my sister.

I love these little pillow case totes so much, I hope my sister likes them too.

I managed to make a corsage for the tote which also doubles as a brooch. Next time I will add a hair clip also. Here is a close up of the brooch....

The ribbon rose is crafted from some leftover vintage pillowcase, and the leaves are from a jumper I felted a while ago. I love how versatile the felt is, I will be looking out for lambswool jumpers at all the op-shops from now on.

What have you gifted lately?

I've Been Busy

Alot has been happening that I have forgotten to blog about, well, haven't found the time is more like it. So what have we been up to?

We have made choc-chip cookies, I found the best recipe ever. This recipe is from the cadbury website. We remembered to take a few process shots.....

I hate creaming butter and sugar and avoid it at all costs, so we chucked it in the food processor.

The cookie dough...

We took them to a friends house and they all disappeared before we remembered to photograph the finished product. Whoops!

This morning we made some more and Monet asked if we could put some cocoa into the mixture to make them chocolate choc-chip cookies. We added 2 table spoons of cocoa with the flour, OMG, so luscious. This time we remembered to take a picture....

We made A few batches of cupcakes from the easiest recipe ever. I remember this recipe from when I had the magazine it was first published in. I love the taste website. It's Australian. So it is ingredients that I am familiar with. And now that all the recipes from those food ideas and good taste magazines are online, I don't have to leaf through 20 magazines every time I am looking for a recipe.

What else have we been up too? Potato stamping :-)

This was so much fun, and we got some really good results. I think we will do this again if it rains this week.

Aaaarrggghhhh! The girls have been bringing the bunny inside. Now I love the bunny, but I do not like finding little bunny surprises around my house. They have been keeping him on the kitchen tiles which are easy enough to clean, but surprisingly, there have nit been any bunny surprises yet, yay!

He is soo cute!!!!! He has bucketloads of personality too, Monet ties a carrot to a string and he actually plays with it, like a cat. I didn't believe it till I saw it. My girls plan on winning a new tv on Funniest Home Videos.

Later in the week we will go to see Toy Story 3. I would like to know if anyone has seen it in 3D and do you think it is worth me driving half an hour and paying twice as much? Or should we just go to our local cinema?

Oops, I nearly forgot, I have also been making these.....

This is one I finished earlier.....

And here is a pile of half finished ones. I have an idea to make some corsages for them out of silk ribbons and a felted jumper. Who knows if I will get around to it....

Hope your holidays have been enjoyable, catch you all again soon :-)
